I’m your behind-the-scenes cheerleader, your calm in the chaos, and sometimes... your backup dancer. Here’s what really goes into documenting the best day of your life.
The Day Begins
My day starts early—mentally and emotionally. I spend a little time with my son, make sure he’s set up for the day, and then shift gears into wedding mode. Once everything at home is settled, it’s time for my must-have ritual: a stop at Starbucks. I grab my go-to drink—an iced chai latte with two pumps of chai and four pumps of hazelnut. Sweet, spiced, and full of energy, just like the day ahead.
Prepping the Night Before
Truthfully, your wedding day begins for me the night before. I’m charging gear, backing up files, double-checking everything—because preparation is my secret weapon.
In my camera bag:
Nikon Z6ii and two Nikon D750s
Godox V100 flashes
My favorite lenses: 35mm, 50mm, 85mm primes + 24–70mm + 70–200mm for flexibility and range
Extra batteries, SD cards, lens wipes, and a few personal essentials
I also sit down to plan. I scroll through posing inspiration, screenshot creative ideas for everything from detail shots to first looks, bridal party portraits, and more. It's part strategy, part art, all heart.
Arriving at the Venue
Once I arrive, I check in with both the bride and groom to let them know I’m here and already scouting the venue for the best photo spots. Lighting, backgrounds, natural scenery—I'm taking it all in while thinking through the day’s flow.
Then it’s time to photograph the details—the little things that make your day uniquely yours. That might include:

Getting Ready Magic
I head into the getting ready suites where the energy is buzzing—music playing, makeup brushes swirling, hair curling, laughter echoing. I’m capturing moments as they unfold: helping each other get dressed, shared glances in the mirror, the subtle nerves and deep breaths.
Then come the emotional touches—buttoning the gown, tying the bow tie, the proud smile from a parent or friend. I’m everywhere but never in the way, quietly documenting it all.
The First Look (or Not)
If you’ve planned a first look, we’ve already talked about the perfect spot—private, scenic, and meaningful. When it happens, I give you the space to soak it in while making sure I catch the reactions, the hugs, the joy, the tears.
If you’ve chosen to wait until the ceremony, we transition right into bridal party portraits—either separately or together, depending on your timeline. This is where the fun starts. I’ll guide you, cheer you on, and get you all laughing and relaxed. No stiff poses here—just real connection and big energy.
A Moment to Breathe
While you enjoy a quiet moment before the ceremony, I’m off photographing the untouched reception and ceremony spaces. Think: the soft glow of candles, the perfectly placed florals, the tables set before a single guest has arrived. I may even grab candid shots of your loved ones walking in and soaking it all in.
The Ceremony
This is the moment. The nerves, the walk down the aisle, the words you’ve been waiting to say, the shared smiles. I’m in multiple places (invisibly) capturing it all. The wide-angle views, the close-up emotion, the moments between the moments.
And when you say “I do” and seal it with a kiss? I’m catching every second from just the right angle.
Cocktail Hour & Reception Time
After the ceremony, it’s celebration mode. Whether it’s a receiving line, cocktail hour, or golden hour portraits—I'm right there with you.
The reception is full of life and light. I’m photographing it all:

As the night winds down, I give one last round of hugs, pack up my gear, and quietly exit—knowing you’re still glowing from the joy of the day. But for me? It’s not over yet.
Back home, I head into my office and immediately begin backing up and organizing your images. Before the night is done, I’ve already started selecting your sneak peeks, so you get a first glimpse of your wedding day within just a few days.
