Hey there! I'm Laurissa "Ris" for short, the face behind In the Moment Photography. I shoot all over Michigan and the Upper Peninsula & for the last four years I have been lucky enough to turn real life moments into memories that my clients can hang up on the wall.

I've photographed over 20 weddings, plus tons of engagements, couples, families, seniors and maternity sessions. My approach is pretty simple: I'm  photojournalistic at heart I love the little, in between things that happen when people forget the camera is there: the soft smiles, real laughs, way you look at your person when you think no one is watching or Aunt Jan doing the worm on the dance floor. Honestly? I LIVE for those blooper moments. The messy, goofy, imperfect stuff that ends up being everyone's favorite photo!

No matter what I will still bring that editorial flare so your gallery feels like the cover of a magazine without losing that sense of realness to it. My editing style is light & moody with that hint of warmth, depth & artistic touch but still feel like YOU. I am DEFINITELY adventurous and always down to try a new spot or explore a new, unexpected place or something you wouldn't normally think of. I also will stay organized behind the scenes so things run as smoothly as they can: timelines, shot lists, backup cameras, etc. I am genuine and will always listen to your vision to help make the come true where it feel we can have fun and make your day the way you always dreamed of.
